About Lexical Content

"The secret to editing your work is simple: you need to become its reader instead of its writer."
Zadie Smith

In a fast-paced digital world where news cycles are measured in seconds and content is king, it’s tempting for companies to publish material that has not been professionally written or edited. Not only is this disrespectful to the reader, it also could alienate a potential customer.

Founded with the reader in mind by long-time tech journalist Dawn Bushaus, Lexical Content is named after an excellent beer. Our job is to help businesses say what they want to say succinctly but with real, measurable impact, which is harder than it sounds.

We focus specifically on helping tech companies create exceptional written content (lexical…written, get it?). We also perform research and analysis of trends in the telecommunications industry.

About Dawn Bushaus

Dawn began her career in tech journalism in 1989 at Telephony magazine, which means she has been writing about telecom for nearly 35 years. (She wishes she didn’t have to admit that because it helps you figure out how old she is. Dawn continues to use photos taken years ago to perpetuate deception.)

In 1996, Dawn joined a team of journalists to start a McGraw-Hill publication called tele.com, and in 2000 she helped a team at Ziff-Davis launch The Net Economy, where she held senior writing and editing positions. She worked as a contributing analyst for Heavy Reading before joining TM Forum’s Research & Media team in 2013.

In 2015 Dawn was promoted to Managing Editor at TM Forum and continued in this role until 2021 when she joined The Great Resignation, because there is nothing quite like a pandemic to make you take stock – and chances.

Today, Dawn contributes to research and media sites such as Inform, Light Reading and Mobile Europe as a writer and editor, and creates blogs and white papers for service providers and suppliers in the telecom industry.
